Connecting to a Oracle database over LDAP
Hi Powerbuilder Community,
a customer asked us if a PowerBuilder application can authenticate to an Oracle database via an LDAP server.
We do not even have such a configuration and can therefore not try and before we create a time consuming test environment I want to pass the question to the community. Can a PowerBuilder application log into an Oracle database, which uses an LDAP server. Probably about an OS authentication or something else? Does anyone have any experience with it.

SYSAM- error in served license validation
Hi
We are trying to install PB 12.5 in the virtual machine
And we have also installed served licensing server, placed the served license in the license folder,
We have started the server and in the server log we have observed the server was started,
While in the process of PB installation, we are trying to validate served license,
but we getting error "no valid licence" and in the log of the SYSAM
we have found the below log info, Could you please support us in solving this issue

Powerbuilder.NET 12.5 .NET data providers - PostgreSQL, ...
Hello all,
I tried to connect (use) PostgreSQL .net provider data connection (Npgsql and devArt) but with no luck.
Generally I have 2 question.
1. is there any way how to add other .net Providers to Database Profiles ?
2. How to correctly setup SQLCA connection with another than standard supported .net providers ?

Migrating 32 Bit Classic PowerBuilder app to 64 bit

I am trying to migarte my Powerbuilder 32 Bit classic application to 64 bit Version. All I could get from Internet that developing a Power builder 64 bit classic app can be done only by using Powerbuilder 15 IDE. Can Anyone Help me with the same. I am having PowerBuilder 12.5.2. Does This Version Support 64 bit application developemnt ??

PowerBuilder - Sysam served license
Hi Folks,
We are using served license for our PowerBuilder 12.5 and recently we did a system refresh. We have installed PB in the new PC and point the license to our sysam server. But the PowerBuilder in the new PC showing that we are in grace period. I checked the sysam logs on the server and it looks like installation from old PC is still holding the license. Can someone please advise how can we release this?

Spire.barcode.DLL
Hello,
I trying to implement the spire.barcode.dll. I have to scan an image whit barcode and read the barcode. the DLL does just that (I see lool it in Visual basic).
I did not undestand how to implement this dll in my project powerbuilder.
Do I have to declare look like a local externale function ? But, How to do?

PB12.6 net - unsupported Powerscript event question
Hi all,
I understand that Datawindow Rbuttonup event is one event that categorized as "unsupported".
What does that really mean? We converted our PB12.1 classic app to PB12.6 net . The Rbuttonup event is used in many of our application, so we are thinking to replace it ( due to unsupported).
However, the PB12.6 .net application still can run the code in Rbuttonup event fine without a problem.
So, I guess - what exactly do we need to do with the "unsupported event"?

installing powerbuilder on a remote server for two developers
Recently, our company was purchased by another company. Soon, we will have to move our PB 12.5 instance to a remote server. Two developers will need development access to our 12.5 product code. Each developer will have a unique SSO login to the remote server. They will be accessing the remote PB instance using RDP through the company VPN. Generally, they do not need access to PB at the same time. What's the best way to install PB in this situation?

Hi,
As part of security audit of our systems, Power Builder 12.6 was a subject of such an audit.
As a result, a few findings were found as problematic and need more clarification from a vendor side.
- A computer with PB 12.6 installed exposes the ports 6969(TCP), 31337 and 54321 (UDP). These ports are considered to be signs for Trojan infection. If these ports are exposed purportedly by any of PB 12.6 programs or services, we request to know exactly what program exposes it and for what purpose.
- In addition, is exposes the following UDP ports which purpose is unknown. The ports are: 16838, 16912, 16947, 19722, 20019, 21247, 25709, 36945, 39888, 48189, 49200, 63420.
We request to know what is the purpose of these ports and what program exposes it.

Datawindow .net - End Of Life Notice
Hi Community,
I want to know if there is a migration path for .net developers using Datawindow .net in their applications?
Is there some third party products in order to migrate the Datawindow .net functionality ?
Or after the "End Of Life Notice" all companies must migrate manually to another architecture, it is the only option?

PowerBuilder 12.5 license
My company purchased a license of PowerBuilder 12.5. I am moving to another computer and I tried to log into mysybase to get it figured out how to move it and it appears they have moved to SAP. I called and they can see my company, but not any maintenance agreement. So, the lady suggested I create a login on SAP and post a question to see if anyone knows what I can do to get the license moved to my new computer.
Any help would be most appreciated!

I would like to ask if I could create webservice server with PB or just client. Our customer would like to get data from our database with webservice calls so I have to create webservice server which will respond on customer request.

SaveAs fails on PB Classic 12.5 using .Net Windows Forms target
Hi guys,
I'm using PB12.5.2 Build 5550 on a Windows 7 SP1 32-bit machine.
I have a NVO that receives a dataStore as argument. At the end of the processing I try to do a SaveAs on the DS. If I supply arguments to the SaveAs command, is saves correctly. If I leave it blank, as for the user to inform the file type and location, the saveAs window simply doesn't appear.
I got a workaround using the GetFileSaveName to get a XLS filename and then use it on the saveAs method.
I guess I'm just writing to have documented, in case someone else has the same issue and doesn't find an answer on google!

Exporting the Datawindow Syntax in XML using PowerScript in PB
Hi All,
PowerBuilder 12.6 IDE allows us to export/Save As File the Datawindow Syntax into XML format. But when trying to look into LibraryExport don't find any option to perform the same using the powerscript.
Could anyone have any suggestion on this?
